Facts

  • The complex was built on the former site of the Three Coins Motel and Bonanza Hotel.
  • This complex was originally built as the home of the first MGM Grand Casino and Hotel.
  • In 1980 the MGM Grand Casino, formerly located in current Bally's complex, suffered the United States' second-deadliest hotel fire in its history, killing 84 people and injuring 679, with most damage being done to Bally's North Tower and the adjacent casino.
  • The original data indicated these towers to be 362 feet in height. This is obviously incorrect when judged against towers near the Bally's towers.
