  • The European Central Bank (ECB) is planning to move from their existing headquarters Eurotower to this Großmarkthalle site.
  • The City of Frankfurt is allowing the ECB to build highrises up to 160m (525ft).
  • The ECB acquired the Großmarkthalle-site on March 5, 2002.
  • An international architectural design and urban planning competition was launched in the second half of 2002.
  • The development of the site is due to start in 2005 and finish in 2008.
  • The settlement of the ECB in this part of town has shown positive effects on the area, where investors have already announced plans for several more developments including a shopping mall with an office tower (Büroturm Honsell-Dreieck).
  • The final concept for the ECB HQ was presented in Fall 2004.
