Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is a town located at the western tip of the Island of Montreal and is the second oldest community in Montreal's West Island, having been founded as a parish in 1703. On January 1, 2002, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue in turn was among the municipalities that were merged into the new City of Montreal. Following a referendum, the town was reestablished on January 1, 2006.
