Located just southeast of Seattle at the southern tip of Lake Washington. Founded in 1860s, the city became a supply town for Newcastle coal fields. Renton formally incorporated in 1901. Now a center of manufacturing and technology companies, such as Boeing and Paccar. The city is also home to the headquarters and training center for the Seattle Seahawks. The state of the art facility opened in 2008 and replaces a much smaller complex in the city of Kirkland. Other large scale developments include The Landing, Southport, and Valley Medical Center.
