Dearborn is an industrial suburb of Detroit, located about ten miles west of the city center. It is famous as the birthplace of Henry Ford and the home of the Ford Motor Company. Over 200 other factories are also located here. Greenfield Village, an historic recreation of early American life planned by Henry Ford, is a notable attraction. Settled in 1795, Dearborn was named for Henry Dearborn, a Revolutionary War general.
