The Special, Industrial and Harbor District of Barranquilla is a city of Colombia, capital of the Department of Atlantico. Barranquilla is located in the north of the country in the Caribbean Region. It is Fourth of the country in importance and number of inhabitants, first of region and one of the main urban and economic centers of Colombia. Along with the municipality of Soledad and the municipality of Puerto Colombia, Barranquilla conforms the Metropolitan Area of Barranquilla.
