20 years ago, Perth was nothing more than a large country town. Now, after leading Australia in population growth for several decades, Perth is a major business and tourism center. With many international mining and oil companies calling Perth home, it built its quick wealth from mineral booms. Perth leads Australia in wealth, with the state of Western Australia supplying 25% of Australias overall wealth. With numerous nightlife spots, ie. Northbridge and Fremantle, and having more 5 star hotel rooms per head of capita, Perth is a tourism mecca. As it grows, so does its skyline. Perth City Council contains the suburbs of Perth(CBD), East Perth, West Perth, Crawly, Northbridge, Highgate and Kings Park. As well as the CBD itself, which contains 1.3 million sqaure meters of office space, Perth's neighbouring suburb is West Perth, which contains 350 000 square meters of office space in more low and mid rise buildings.
