Facts

  • In the 5th century the Roman theatre was severely damaged by the forces of Atilla the Hun. The ruin was slowly covered by earth in the centuries to follow and forgotten altogether. It was finally rediscovered in the early 1970s after which it was partly reconstructed.
  • In recent years the theatre hosts theatrical plays and musical shows during the summer months.
