Built for George Reifel, who opened the Commodore Ballroom downtown around the same time.
Considered by many as Vancouver's most favourite legendary mansion.
The mansion's art deco ballroom, with sprung dance floor and stage, got a lot of use in the 1940s when jazz musicians like Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie came here for late-night parties.
