Facts

  • There will be three observation levels offering 360 degree views of the city and surrounding areas.
  • There will be a number of tower rides including: The Giant Drop, The See-Saw and the 20 Flight Trainers.
  • There will be a 250-room hotel, retail units, restaurants and education facilities located at the base of the tower.
  • In December 2007, the developer modified the overall design which had been released for public consultation in September 2007.
  • In July 2010, land owner Advantage West Midlands decided to offer the proposed VTP 200 site to another developer to build a university block, thus effectively ending the dream of a vertical theme park construction in Eastside.
  • VTP200 is the successor to the previously announced The Birmingham Pinnacle.
  • VTP200 will become the tallest observation tower in the country.
  • There will be a number of extreme activities including: The Walk of Fear, The Climb to the Top, The Sky Jump and The Bungee Jump.
  • The 50-person gyro tower will climb to a height of 190 metres and offer views of almost 3,500 square miles across the Midlands.
