The concrete walls are between 2 and 2.5 metres thick.
The tower is now used in part as a store for the Museum of Applied Arts.
Spare parts were stored in the cellar whilst the ground floor was used as an ammunition depot. Floors 1 to 3 were used as public shelters, the fourth floor was used as a hospital and floors 5 to 8 contained plant, military offices and communications centers.
Equipped with four, 128-millimetre Flak 40 cannon until the second quarter of 1944 when they were replaced with four, 128-millimetre Twinflak 44 cannon.
