Facts

  • This building serves as the Educational Resource Center and main entrance for the Como Zoo and the adjacent Marjorie McNeely Conservatory.
  • The south end features a tropical exhibit integrating animals from the zoo and plants from the conservatory, under an irregularly-pitched glass roof which maximizes winter light while reflecting much summer light.
  • Water gardens on the east side contain Victorian water platters, large Amazonian lily pads, resurrecting a popular exhibit from the early days of Como Park. These ponds are part of a passive cooling system for the building.
