Facts

  • This building was built to consolidate the scattered offices of the Michigan State Police in Lansing, and replace the aging headquarters complex in the city of East Lansing.
  • Because of security concerns, the building was construction with a 50-foot setback from Kalamazoo Street and Grand Avenue, and surrounded by security berms and fences.
  • The Michigan State Police moved out of the building to the State Secondary Complex in the Lansing suburbs in 2015, while the Department of Community Health (later Health and Human Services) relocated to the building along with other state offices.
