  • To minimise energy consumption, the building is clad in two double-glazed layers.
  • In December 2006 this project was selected as the winning project among six proposals.
  • Depending on the position of the sun, the tower will change color up to 10 times a day.
  • The St. Petersburg Union of Architects refused to take part in the design competition leading to the choosing of this project as they thought it would ruin the architectural harmony of the city.
  • The project has raised much fear among some citizens that the tower will spoil the historic skyline of St. Petersburg.
  • There is a public observation gallery on the 70th floor.
