  • Much of the limestone used in this church was salvaged from the demolished Federal Building in Chicago.
  • It was designated a basilica by Pope Pius XI in 1929, becoming the first basilica in the United States built for Polish-Americans.
  • It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
