The parking structure and hotel tower will employ green roof technologies, and the hotel will feature a private terrace level with a zen garden.
The northeast corner of the block, facing North 3rd Street and West McKinley Avenue will become a public plaza.
During summer 2006, this proposal competed with the multi-building Rana Development for the entire block bounded by West Juneau and West McKinley Avenues, from North 3rd to 4th Streets. The Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors selected this project for construction.
Like the previous proposal, this development will preserve and renovate the historic Sidney Hih Building, located on the northwest corner of North 3rd Street and West Juneau Avenue.
The proposal also incorporates a relocated Gipfel Brewery, currently located one block west on the south side of Juneau Avenue. The circa 1854 Gipfel Brewery is the oldest remaining structure from Milwaukee's long brewing history.
Plans for this tower were dropped in January 2009.
