Facts

  • Regions announced the addition of one more floor, taking the tower to 11 floors overground in February 2008, more than a year after the start of construction. The 11th floor had been planned as an add-alternate, pending approval by the Board in January 2008, with the building's structure and mechanical systems designed to accommodate it.
  • The opening of the tower was staged over several months in 2009, with a grand reopening celebration on June 26th, reprocessing opening on July 13th, the new emergency center and underground parking on July 15th, new operating rooms on the third floor surgery center on September 21st, and upper-floor patient rooms in October.
