Facts

  • The present Ratusha is the fourth borough council building on this site.
  • This building is represented at the official city logo coupled with Armenian Church Bell Tower, Church of the Assumption, Latin Cathedral and Bernardin Church.
  • The blue and yellow flag of the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic was raised over the tower for the first time on November 1, 1918.
  • The present clockwork, which was made in Vienna, was installed into the tower on 1851.
  • The previous city hall building crashed down on July 14, 1826.
  • Top of the tower was seriously damaged by artillery bombardment during the revolution of 1848.
