  • During the 15th century the sanctuary was completely reconstructed.
  • In 1841 the church was entrusted to the redemptionists, members of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, which is a Roman Catholic order.
  • The church was renovated after it had been severely damaged by French artillery in 1695.
  • The current campanile was constructed in 1697.
  • In 1902 the church was bought by the Belgian government for the construction of the north-south railway connection in Brussels.
