Facts

  • Both Absolute World towers have continuous balconies surrounding the whole building, thus offering maximum light to the apartments.
  • With its sister tower Absolute World 1, the building forms part of the Absolute City Centre complex, a residential ensemble consisting of five towers.
  • With the towers located at the junction of two main streets, the stated intention is for Absolute World to act as a gateway to the city.
  • Absolute World was originally planned as just a single tower. This second tower was added following the overwhelming response to the design of Absolute World 1.
  • The tower, elliptical in form, turns a constant 4° through each of its 50 storeys.
  • The balconies have passive solar design.
  • Absolute World 1, by contrast, turns through a total of 209° over its 56 storeys, with the twist varying from 1° to 8° from floor to floor.
  • The pattern of rotation is different to Absolute World 1 since design architect Ma Yansong of MAD architects insisted that the second tower should complement the first but not duplicate it.
