Facts

  • This was the first hotel developed by the Kahler Corporation. Of the 125 rooms in the hotel, 40 were adapted to hospital use by the adjoining Mayo Clinic.
  • Originally six floors, an eight floor addition was completed in 1917.
  • By the 1980's it was known as the Kahler Zumbro Hotel. It was demolished by the Kahler Corporation in 1987 to make way for the Rochester Marriott Mayo Clinic Area.
  • It was posthumously listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
