Facts

  • The facade is constructed of St. Maximin and Savonniere stone, and Ancy-le-Franc marble.
  • Though the congregation was originally founded for Americans that lived or visited Paris, the church has since expanded its outreach to all English-speaking persons.
  • The interior height of the nave is 58 feet high whilst the chancel is 54 feet high.
  • The church congregation dates back to the 1830s, when American Episcopalians began to meet in Paris.
  • Because of the congregation's make-up, which is overwhelmingly American, the cathedral is popularly known as the American Cathedral in Paris; however, the official name is the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity.
