  • The main church building was constructed between 1889 and 1890 by Elijah E. Myers of Detroit, and said to be the only church he ever designed.
  • The Temple House contains the church offices, a two-story auditorium, the Sunday school classrooms, and a gymnasium occupies the third floor.
  • The church was expanded between 1922 and 1923 with the addition of a three-story Temple House, designed by architect Lee Black.
  • The church is designed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style, faced with heavy, dark red Ionia sandstone from Michigan.
