  • The dome is topped with a statue of Pete Hansbough Bell, the Texas governor who created Bell County in 1849.
  • Renovated inside and out and made modern in the 1950s, the clock tower was removed.
  • Removed sometime in the 1950s, the dome/clock tower was rebuilt in 1999 restoring the building's original appearance.
  • The cornerstone was laid June 24, 1884.
  • The courthouse was completed on May 30, 1885.
  • This is the third Bell County Courthouse at this location.
