  • The bell was a gift from Caroline E. Corbett which was originally installed in the first church building on Third and Washington.
  • New chandeliers were installed in place of the old ones in 1954.
  • The original chandeliers were gas operated but converted to electric in 1890.
  • The 900 lb. bell is the oldest in Portland.
  • The spire was damaged during the Columbus Day storm in 1962.
  • The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
  • The church's cornerstone was laid in May 1887.
  • The site was purchased in May 1883 from Cyrus A. Dolph.
