  • The top floor was added in 1901.
  • The Queen-Bay Centre now occupies the site on which this building once stood.
  • At the time of completion this was the tallest commercial building in the British Empire.
  • As a masonry structure the red brick and Credit Valley stone walls ranged from 4'3" thick at the foundation to 1'6" at the top floor.
  • The building was the first highrise in the city to be designed and built entirely by Canadian firms.
  • Tallest highrise in Toronto from 1896-1906, surpassing The Beard Building and surpassed by Trader's Bank Building.
