  • The building stands at the southern terminus of , with the clock tower visible from the central business district several blocks north.
  • Railway traffic to the station ended in 1971, and in the 1980s the building was converted to retail and commercial use as a neighborhood hub.
  • The clock tower originally had a high pitched roof on top, which was destroyed in a fire. One of the alternate plans for redevelopment in the 1980s called for rebuilding the "hat".
