Facts

  • SS. Peter & Paul Cathedral is the seat of the Indianapolis Archdiocese, originally founded in 1834 at Vincennes.
  • A decision in the 1930's to construct the planned bell tower was opposed strongly by residents of the Winter House Apartments, located just to the south, then an exclusive apartment building. The tower remains unbuilt.
