  • The Hotel Arthur was the tallest building in Aurora when built and one of the tallest in Illinois outside Chicago at the time.
  • In 1915, it was leased to the Aurora, Elgin, and Chicago Railroad Company to serve as its headquarters offices and traction terminal station.
  • The architect, Eugene Malmer, studied with William LeBaron Jenney, the father of the skyscraper.
