  • Donated to the City of San Diego in 1997 for preservation by Catellus Development Corporation, a spin-off of Santa Fe.
  • Extensively refurbished in 1982.
  • Opened on March 8, 1915 replacing the 1887 California Southern Railway depot in time for the Panama-California International Exposition.
  • Plans in 1971 to demolish it failed.
  • Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
