  • The hotel is particularly prominent in producer Hal Roach's features "Putting Pants on Philip" and "Leave 'Em Laughin'.".
  • The hotel has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
  • Legendary actor John Wayne once owned the hotel until he donated it to the YMCA.
  • Originally known as the Hotel Hunt.
  • Most of the cast of the classic "Wizard of Oz" stayed at the hotel during filming.
  • Hollywood stars like Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford, Red Skelton, Buster Keaton and Ronald Reagan have maintained part-time residences at this hotel.
  • In 1997 six of the surviving eleven munchkins reunited at the hotel to celebrate the 59th anniversary of the filming of The Wizard of Oz.
