Facts

  • This proposal was preceded by two other plans by Lucien Lagrange Architects: Randolph Court and Market Hall Tower.
  • The tower will stand on two legs, flanking a large opening above the podium which breaks up the mass of the building's base.
  • MoMo stands on the site of the Masonic Temple, once Chicago's tallest building and one of the most important early skyscrapers.
  • Chicago's Joffrey Ballet Company purchased two floors at the base for use as a permanent dance theater.
  • The name "Momo" stands for "Modern Momentum".
  • The same development team is planning a similarly named SoNo south of North Avenue.
