Facts

  • It now houses many of the service functions for the new St. Regis hotel, including offices, fitness and spa facilities, and food service areas.
  • Constructed one year after the great 1906 San Francisco earthquake, the Williams Building suffered structural damage in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
  • It was renovated from 2001-2005 during construction of the adjacent St. Regis San Francisco.
  • The seismic upgrade included a new mat foundation and removal of the original 9th floor.
