  • The copper dome is 130 feet above the height of the cross atop the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral and is highly visible when viewed from Parliament Hill to the southwest.
  • The interior of the church is noted for its painted vaulted ceiling by Nathaniel Westlake and its canopy over the high altar.
  • It is estimated that the weight of the copper tower combined with its supporting brickwork is 2,000 tons.
  • St. Joseph's is an amalgam of Byzantine and Romanesque styles.
  • The church is Grade I Listed.
  • The church could not be consecrated until the debt incurred by the cost of construction was cleared. Consecration finally occurred on April 28, 1932.
