  • The temple is built in Ionian style and has eight columns in total, with four of them being on the northern side and four on the southern side (Ionian tetrastyle amphiprostyle).
  • Construction of this temple began after 430BC and was completed circa 423BC, according to a design by Kallikrates who was also one of the architects of The Parthenon.
  • This temple was built in honour of Athena Nike (Athena Victor) after the city of Athens and its allies emerged victorious from the war against the Persians.
