  • It is one of the oldest theaters remaining in the city, opened in 1909 along with the Old National Centre, also designed by Rubush & Hunter.
  • The Circle Theatre was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
  • It was renovated in 1982-1984 as the home of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and recognized in 1984 with the Monumental Award, representing the most significant visual and physical enhancement in Marion County.
