  • The Indiana State Museum operated here from 1969 until 2002, when a new museum building opened in White River State Park at 650 West Washington Street.
  • The former Indianapolis City Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
  • The building then served as the temporary home of the city's main public library from 2003 until 2007 as the Indianapolis-Marion County Central Library was renovated and expanded.
  • City government eventually moved all functions to the City-County Building after its completion in 1962.
