  • Edsel Ford (1893-1943) commissioned Henry and Richmond to succeed the design work for the yacht club upon the death of Guy Lowell in 1927.
  • Dedicated on July 4, 1929, the tower serves as a navigational aid to Lake St. Clair boaters.
  • The clubhouse contains a bowling alley, a grand ballroom, three dinning rooms, a wine cellar, kitchen, a maintenance area, and office space.
  • The yacht club is the only commercial property in the Village of Grosse Pointe Shores.
