  • The building was used as a military hospital during World War II.
  • The years 1974-1982 saw the building vacant suffering deterioration capped by a fire that caused extensive damage.
  • From 1951-74 the structure was used for the offices of various Federal agencies.
  • The court is housed in what was originally the Vista del Arroyo Hotel, is situated above Pasadena's Arroyo del Seco, a deep gorge that is home to some of the city's outstanding landmarks.
  • In the 1980s the federal government restored the building for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
