Facts

  • This is the first modern building in Columbus, and one of the first modern churches in the United States.
  • The North Christian Church, also in Columbus, was designed by Eliel's son, Eero Saarinen.
  • The building was dedicated on May 31, 1942.
  • It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
  • The building is a simple geometric design, faced in buff Indiana limestone. The campanile tower rises just to the west of the sanctuary building.
