  • The Perpendicular tower and octagonal spire is 15th century whilst the earliest parts of the church date from the early 13th century.
  • St. Mary's is built from local Cotswold stone in the Early English style and is cruciform in shape.
  • The chancel is inclined from the centre by 40 centimetres (16 inches) to represent the leaning head of Jesus Christ on the crucifix.
  • The spire is known locally as 'Our Lady's Needle'.
