Facts

  • This was the temporary home of the Evanston Public Library while it built its new home at Church and Orrington.
  • The building has undergone two major renovations: the first increased the height of the windows on the southern half, and the second removed one floor from the front to create a terrace.
  • Located at the heart of Downtown Evanston, the Fountain Square Building takes its name from the public plaza in front which has three fountains and a war memorial.
