Facts

  • St. Peter-in-Chains has been the Cathedral for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati since completion, except from 1938-1957, when it was moved to the St. Monica Church.
  • The neighborhood near the Cathedral had declined significantly by 1950, and the building was to be razed.
  • Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, it remains one of the most celebrated Greek Revival churches in the United States.
