  • It later housed the Architectural Displays Department of Ryerson Polytechnic Institute (now Ryerson University).
  • On May 9, 1977, the upper four floors of the building were badly destroyed by a fire that began in a nearby discount clothing emporium and warehouse.
  • When this building was first built, it house primarily stock brokers and insurance agents, as well as offices of National Cash Register.
  • By the 1940s, it housed offices for many Departments of the City of Toronto, and became known informally as the City Hall Annex.
