  • The tower was imploded at 8:02 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2006. Demolition crews had begun removing windows as of January 2006.
  • This was demolished to make way for the University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health and USC’s Innovista.
  • The “Blow it up with the Plaza” fundraiser for the Arnold School of Public Health, allowed for persons who donated $20 to have items demolished with the buildings implosion.
  • Opened on March 1, 1973, as the Carolina Inn as Columbia's first major convention hotel.
  • On November 25, 1985, this re-opened as the Radisson Hotel Columbia after a $2 million renovation.
  • On February 11, 1992, this was purchaced by the University of South Carolina for use as a welcome center.
  • In 1995 the South Carolina General Assembly used this as a temporary "State House" whilst the South Carolina Statehouse was being renovated.
