  • Ralph Gaines' Colony Steakhouse and Lounge featured live entertainment on the first, floor south of the main lobby, between the mid-50's and the early 70's.
  • The late Steve Allen, who had the "Talent Scouts" show in the early days of television, was in the lounge one night when the performer was throaty-voiced local jazz singer Marilyn Maye.
  • Allen signed up Maye, who claims she holds the record for appearances on the "Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" at 78.
