  • Fire Insurance Maps indicate this building is 145 feet to the main roof, not including the penthouse.
  • The section at the northwest corner of Chestnut & 10th Streets has load-bearing masonry walls.
  • Today the building houses apartments, yet remains one of the finest examples of large-scale Second Empire architecture in the city.
  • The first four floors were completed in 1874, and the top three floors followed in 1891. Henry Fernback was the architect.
  • The two taller sections to the west were completed in 1896 and 1902, and were designed by Roos & Brosam.
