Facts

  • The architecture firm Murphy/Jahn had planned to move its offices into this building if it had been built.
  • This wildly futuristic design was featured in an exhibit on new Chicago skyscrapers at Washington DC's Union Station.
  • This is the first design for a speculative office building that was planned 2 blocks west of the Magnificent Mile. The Project J-2 was only slightly more conservative.
  • In 1989 this site was occupied by a long low-rise building for the Murine Corporation. It was demolished after this project was cancelled, and the lot sat vacant until construction of The Pinnacle began in 2002.
