To be built on the side of a hill, the apartment from top to bottom was 360 feet tall and 40 floors including 11 parking levels.
This initial proposal was rejected largely due to its blocking of the river valley view from downtown.
A revised proposal featured a round apartment moved slightly to the west. After much debate, the modified version was eventually approved. However, in 1964 the proposal was modified from an apartment to a hotel and eventually became the Crowne Plaza Edmonton, now the Crowne Plaza Edmonton.
