Facts

  • It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
  • Originally a department store, the H.P. Wasson Building was built in 1936 to the designs of Rubush & Hunter, with an 8-story addition to the west in 1948 to the designs of Graham, Anderson, Probst & White.
  • It replaced the original H.P. Wasson Department Store complex, which consisted of several low-rise buildings, including the H.P. Wasson Department Store.
